Refund policy

BoothBuddy lets your group book a table and split it. The venue sells the table and sets its price, gratuity, tax and arrival rules; your table money goes straight to the venue. BoothBuddy charges a small fee per seat for the booking, the split and the passes.

When you get money back

The venue cancels the eventEveryone who paid is refunded in full, including the BoothBuddy fee. It happens automatically; you don't need to ask.
The venue moves the event by more than 3 hoursEach person who paid can take a full refund of their share, including the BoothBuddy fee, from the group page until the new doors time. If you do nothing, your pass works on the new date. If you refund, your seat goes back to the host.
Checkout didn't finishIf anyone in the group didn't pay in time, or another group got the table first, nobody is charged. Approved payments are released, not refunded, so nothing reaches your statement except a temporary hold that drops off.

When you don't

Nobody from the table arrives in timeIf nobody from your table checks in by the venue's arrive-by time plus its grace period, the venue releases the table and nothing is refunded. The venue's rules page and your pass show the times.
You can't make itA paid seat isn't refundable, but you can give it to a friend in the app until it's scanned at the door.
Other refunds from the venueA venue can choose to refund the table price for other reasons. That's between you and the venue. The BoothBuddy fee isn't refunded in that case, because the booking happened.

Problems on the night

Talk to the venue first: they sold the table and can fix most things at the door. Refunds take 5–10 business days to show on a statement, and pay-over-time plans (Affirm, Klarna) are adjusted by the provider.
